Ramadhan Working Hours Announced in Oman: Key Implications for Business Operations and Investor Planning
The official working hours during the Holy Month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH have been announced as follows:
For the State Administrative Apparatus, the official working hours will consist of 5 continuous hours daily, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Flexible Working Hours: Heads of units are required to implement a flexible working hours system. They will determine employee attendance and departure times based on the nature of the unit’s work, within the window of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Working hours will be calculated from the employee’s time of arrival until departure, following the unit’s specific procedures.
Remote Work: Heads of units should enable remote work for positions suitable to such arrangements, provided it does not disrupt workflow. However, no less than 50% of employees must be physically present at their workplaces at all times.
For Private Sector Establishments, working hours for Muslim employees are reduced to 6 hours per day, not exceeding 30 hours per week.
