LONDON, July 7 — Croatian star Ivan Rakitić has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 37. His last appearance was with Hajduk Split in his home country.
Rakitić represented the Croatian national team in 106 international matches and was a vital member of the squad that reached the 2018 World Cup final, where they were defeated by France.
He won the UEFA Champions League with Barcelona in 2015 and claimed two Europa League titles in 2014 and 2023 while playing for Sevilla. Additionally, he secured four La Liga titles during his time with Barcelona.
