KHARTOUM, July 11 – Health workers in Sudan reported today that fighting between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has intensified in Kordofan, a region in central Sudan, resulting in at least four deaths.

The Sudan Doctors’ Network stated that RSF forces conducted artillery shelling in neighborhoods of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, leading to the deaths and injuries of several civilians.

The network emphasized that the RSF is deliberately targeting civilians with guided artillery rockets, causing casualties in the neighborhoods of El Obeid, which are home to a significant number of displaced individuals fleeing areas controlled by the RSF.

According to the latest report from the International Organization for Migration, the fighting in North Kordofan has led to the displacement of approximately 700 families from July 4 to July 9.
