Drug Smuggling Foiled in Quriyat: Implications for Business Security and Operations in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has apprehended three Asian nationals in the Wilayat of Quriyat after they attempted to retrieve large quantities of drugs concealed along a beach.

According to the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the arrests resulted from two surveillance operations targeting suspects who traveled from Al Buraimi Governorate. The individuals were detained while they were in the process of collecting packages containing crystal meth and hashish that had been smuggled into Oman.

Investigations indicate that the suspects had coordinated with an international drug network based outside the country to smuggle the substances and hide them along the shoreline for later retrieval.

The ROP confirmed that legal procedures are currently underway, and the case will be referred to the appropriate authorities.
