Washington, July 7Oil prices surged by nearly 2% today, as strong demand indicators outweighed concerns regarding increased production by the OPEC+ alliance, which is expected to exceed forecasts in August, along with new worries about the potential impact of U.S. tariffs.

Brent crude futures rose by $1.28, or 1.9%, closing at $69.58 per barrel.

Similarly, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude increased by 93 cents, or 1.4%, reaching $67.93 per barrel.
