New Bus Service from Dubai and Riyadh to Salalah: What It Means for Business and Tourism Growth in Oman
Muscat: Al Khanjry, a private scheduled bus operator, will commence services from Riyadh and Dubai to Salalah starting July 5, coinciding with the Khareef season.
Return tickets from Dubai will be priced at AED 350, with one-way fares costing AED 200. From Riyadh, the return fare is set at SR 600, while a one-way ticket will cost SR 300.
During the first week, buses from Dubai will operate on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. From the second week onward, the service will run daily.
Rashid Al Khanjry, owner of Al Khanjry Transport, anticipates a positive response to this service, presenting it as a safer alternative to flights and encouraging motorists to avoid the long, accident-prone drives on this route.
It is noteworthy that approximately 70 percent of travelers to Dhofar Governorate during Khareef prefer road travel over air travel.
