Muscat – In a move to enhance tourism offerings, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has announced plans to develop a dedicated mountain biking trail designed to cater to riders of varying skill levels, including beginners, amateurs, and professionals.
The tender process for consultancy services related to the project commenced on December 12.
The initiative will feature not only the biking trail but also recreational amenities and support services such as bike rental and maintenance. These facilities will be carefully integrated with the natural environment to provide a cohesive and appealing experience for visitors.
A comprehensive master plan will be prepared to bring this vision to life. This plan will include a detailed zoning strategy and an integrated layout of the park’s components to prioritize safety, operational efficiency, and visitor satisfaction, while safeguarding the distinct environmental and cultural heritage of the Al Jabal Al Akhdar area.
According to the tender specifications, “The consultant will develop an implementable design that encompasses a detailed master plan with a zoning strategy and spatial organization of all park elements, ensuring safety, efficiency, and a high-quality visitor experience, while preserving the unique environmental and cultural identity of Wilayat Al Jabal Al Akhdhar.”
