Surge in Hotel Revenues and Occupancy in Oman: What This Growth Means for Investors and Business Owners

Muscat – Revenues from 3-5-star hotels in Oman rose by 10.6 percent, reaching RO 79.43 million by the end of March 2025, up from RO 71.80 million at the end of March 2024.

According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), this revenue growth is linked to a 2.3 percent increase in the total number of hotel guests, which rose to 610,176 by the end of March 2025, compared to 596,366 guests the previous year.

The hotel occupancy rate also improved significantly, climbing from 54.9 percent at the end of March 2024 to 59.5 percent by March 2025, an increase of 8.3 percentage points.

Guest demographics showed varied trends: visitors from the Americas increased by 11.6 percent to 21,781, while those from Africa surged by 70.7 percent to 4,633. Asian guests grew by 10.1 percent to 87,210, and guests from Oceania increased by 50.9 percent, reaching 13,098.

Conversely, the number of Omani guests declined by 9.1 percent to 171,809. Guests from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries experienced an 18.2 percent rise to 37,646, while visitors from other Arab nationalities decreased by 7.7 percent to 22,533. European guests increased by 7.5 percent, totaling 232,986.

These figures highlight a positive trend in Oman’s hotel sector, driven notably by growth in international tourism.
