Muscat – Celebrating its 20th anniversary on Monday, the Omran Group announced a series of strategic investment partnerships with both local and international institutions.

The event was attended by Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and highlighted significant progress on major developments and strategic collaborations within Omran’s integrated tourism complexes across several key sectors.

Key announcements included a new agreement with VA Group to develop a mixed-use project at the Sultan Qaboos Port waterfront. Regarding the Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront in Muttrah, plans include a retail pavilion, a Heritage Hotel, and residential units complemented by a marina behind the Port Gate. This project is currently in the design phase, guided by a masterplan from London-based Grimshaw Architects.

Furthermore, a partnership with the Oman Agriculture Development Company was announced to create Janaen Salalah, the Sultanate’s first integrated agri-tourism project.

The event also featured design models for several upcoming developments, including Madinat Al Irfan, the Sultan Qaboos Port Waterfront, the forthcoming Four Seasons Resort, and the Opera District project.

The Omran Group’s strategic partnerships and high-profile mixed-use, luxury, and agri-tourism developments signal strong momentum in Oman’s tourism and real estate sectors, creating promising growth avenues for related businesses. Smart investors and entrepreneurs should prioritize opportunities in integrated tourism projects and luxury hospitality, as these align with Oman’s vision to diversify its economy and attract international visitors. However, they must also carefully assess project timelines and market demand to mitigate risks amid evolving consumer preferences and economic conditions.
