Recently, thousands of jeepney drivers protested across the country due to the more than twofold increase in local diesel prices resulting from surging global oil prices linked to the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran. <\/p>\n<p>As with many Southeast Asian nations, the Philippines is implementing measures such as reduced workweeks and fuel subsidies to alleviate the pressure of rising costs.
