exemption procedures. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance industrial competitiveness and improve the investment climate in the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n<p>Eng. Khalid bin Salim Al Qasabi, Director General of Industry, emphasized that the national industrial strategy focuses on maximizing the benefits of incentives, especially customs exemptions, due to their critical role in reducing operational costs and boosting the competitiveness of industrial enterprises in both local and international markets.<\/p>\n<p>He further highlighted that the strategy encourages Omani manufacturers to integrate Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, which are essential for increasing productivity and operational efficiency. This initiative is complemented by a range of qualitative incentives provided by the Directorate General of Industry aimed at supporting technological transformation and fostering innovation within the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Al Qasabi pointed out that the Industrial Exemptions Team is pivotal in raising awareness among industrial entities about available incentives and the related procedures, ensuring their optimal use while adhering to regulatory standards.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry also announced the launch of the 2026 field visit program by the Joint National Team. These visits are designed to monitor compliance with customs exemption regulations, enhance coordination among relevant bodies, streamline processes, and ensure effective utilization of exemptions\u2014thereby supporting economic activities and promoting investment.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last five years, a total of 1,327 customs exemption decisions have been issued, underscoring the increasing significance of industrial incentives in fostering sector growth.<\/p>\n<p>Eng. Saud bin Said Al Jabri, Head of the Industrial Exemptions Department, reported that about 402 exemption decisions were granted in 2025, marking a 4.4 percent increase compared to 2024. During the year, 79 field visits were conducted targeting industrial establishments benefiting from these exemptions to verify compliance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n<p>He added that these visits facilitate direct engagement with businesses, allowing the authorities to collect feedback, address challenges, and refine procedural aspects. The upcoming phase will focus on intensifying monitoring and awareness activities, improving compliance rates, and strengthening institutional collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Al Jabri stated that the 2026 program will prioritize assessing compliance, providing guidance, and identifying operational challenges faced by beneficiary establishments, with the goal of resolving those issues in cooperation
