Consumption by industrial projects surged by <strong>5.8%<\/strong>, reaching <strong>9.87 billion cubic meters<\/strong>, up from <strong>9.32 billion cubic meters<\/strong> at the end of April 2025. Notably, demand from electricity generation plants experienced the most significant growth, rising by <strong>12.7%<\/strong> to <strong>4.91 billion cubic meters<\/strong>, compared to <strong>4.36 billion cubic meters<\/strong> during the same timeframe last year. This spike reflects heightened power requirements throughout the Sultanate of Oman.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, gas consumption in oil fields\u2014accounting for losses, meter discrepancies, and shrinkage\u2014declined by <strong>5.7%<\/strong>, totaling <strong>3.93 billion cubic meters<\/strong>, down from <strong>4.17 billion cubic meters<\/strong> a year prior. Furthermore, gas usage in industrial areas, including industrial estates and operations linked to the Oman Mining Company and Oman Cement Company, dropped sharply by <strong>30.7%<\/strong>, falling
