The Fed probably cannot hike aggressively into a pure supply shock, but it also cannot ignore inflation expectations if oil keeps rising.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies including the yen and euro, edged down 0.1% to 99.87.<\/p>\n<p>In Europe, the European Central Bank (ECB) began its two-day monetary policy meeting on Wednesday. its fastest pace in three years, driven by broader price pressures stemming from the war, further strengthening the case for additional interest rate hikes by the Bank of Japan, data revealed on
