Said bin Hamoud al Maawali, Oman&#8217;s Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, met with Saif Al Nasr al Tijani, Sudan&#8217;s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.<\/p>\n<p>The two officials explored opportunities to expand collaboration in transport, port operations, and logistics services, with the goal of forging partnerships that benefit both nations&#8217; economic interests.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Asyad Ports and Free Zones, a subsidiary of the Asyad Group, and Sudan\u2019s Sea Ports Corporation signed the MoU. This agreement is designed to strengthen cooperation in port management, maritime transport, and logistics while supporting supply chain development and maritime integration between Oman and Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU outlines cooperation areas including port planning, maritime infrastructure, and the exchange of technical and administrative expertise. It also includes provisions for joint training programs, workshops, and reciprocal visits to build institutional capacity and share operational knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>A major focus of the partnership will be the digital transformation of the ports sector.
