undocumented workers and visitors in Oman whose visas have expired.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Labour (MoL) previously announced efforts to streamline the labour market, resulting in the waiving of fines and legal proceedings for individuals with expired visas or residents who remain in the country beyond the validity of their permits. This initiative aims to assist them in leaving Oman; however, it does not apply to individuals involved in criminal activities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the MoL, this exemption is specifically intended for undocumented workers whose residency permits have expired and who wish to exit the Sultanate. They can apply through the Ministry\u2019s website, following the outlined procedures. Applicants can expect to receive notification regarding their free exit within about a week. All they need is an airline ticket back to their home country.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the Observer, an ROP official confirmed that the free exit for undocumented individuals is permissible, provided they have not engaged in any criminal offenses and comply with the MoL\u2019s conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ROP has been monitoring the discussions surrounding exemptions from fines and obligations. The exemptions apply to specific cases as outlined in the MoL\u2019s announcement concerning the rectification of conditions and the resolution of fines for individuals and employers,\u201d the official noted.<\/p>\n<p>Key points regarding the exemption include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Foreign nationals wishing to rectify their status by renewing their residency or transferring their employment within Oman will be exempt from all fines associated with expired visas and residency cards, following verification of their corrected status with the MoL.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Foreigners intending to permanently leave Oman will also be exempt from fines due to the expiration of any type of non-work-related visa.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The ROP has confirmed that it is utilizing all available technical systems to expedite transactions and encourages affected individuals to take advantage of the amnesty period, which continues until <strong>Thursday, July 31,
