These developments raise the total number of licensed tourism establishments in Dhofar to 100, offering a combined capacity exceeding 8,000 hotel rooms. Additionally, a new tourist information centre has opened at Al Haffa Beach Market to improve visitor services.<\/p>\n<p>Khalid bin Abdullah al Abri, Director-General of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate, highlighted the importance of the Khareef season as one of Oman\u2019s premier tourism events. Speaking to Oman News Agency (ONA), he noted that Dhofar\u2019s unique monsoon climate makes it an attractive destination for tourists from various countries.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry has also rolled out a comprehensive promotional campaign for this year\u2019s Khareef season, aligning with its broader tourism objectives. Initial marketing efforts included participation in international travel exhibitions, such as the Arab Travel Market 2025 in Dubai, where Dhofar Municipality officials held a press conference to reveal the season\u2019s activities. Further promotional workshops were conducted in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, emphasizing new direct flight connections to Salalah Airport operated by Flynas, Saudi Airlines (Flyadeal), Kuwait Airways, and Jazeera Airways.<\/p>\n<p>Al Abri explained that the ministry\u2019s strategy aims to extend the tourism season to over 100 days by managing visitor flow across three distinct periods from June 21 to October 10. The peak season, spanning mid-July to late August, typically experiences the highest occupancy rates.
