This project involves building a 42-inch diameter pipeline extending 193 kilometres from Fahud in Wilayat Ibri, Al Dhahirah Governorate, to Suhar in North Al Batinah Governorate. The pipeline will also include a lateral connection to serve the Ibri industrial zone.<\/p>\n<p>The new pipeline is designed to enhance the reliability and availability of natural gas supplies to key economic regions, thus supporting sustainable industrial development now and in the future. As the sole authority responsible for issuing gas transmission orders in Oman, IGC has given full approval for this project and has assigned OQ Gas Networks\u2014the nation&#8217;s gas transmission infrastructure owner and operator\u2014to implement it.<\/p>\n<p>Following a competitive tender process, OQ Gas Networks awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to Petrojet &amp; Partners, valued at RO 105 million. The contract for the pipeline supply was given to Jindal Saw Limited. The project is expected to be completed within 24 months.<\/p>\n<p>Once operational, the pipeline will expand Oman\u2019s national gas network by 4.5% and represent about 9.5% of the regulated asset base, highlighting its critical importance to the country\u2019s energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Abdulrahman bin Humaid al Yahyaei, CEO of Integrated Gas Company, described the project as a key milestone in IGC\u2019s strategy to build a flexible, efficient, and future-ready national gas network. He emphasized the project\u2019s role in meeting the rising industrial energy demand while strengthening Oman\u2019s status as a regional energy hub.<\/p>\n<p>Al Yahyaei also noted that the project reflects IGC\u2019s dedication to developing a reliable energy system aligned with Oman\u2019s industrial and economic goals. It is expected to drive investment, enhance local value, generate employment, and support the transition to clean energy.<\/p>\n<p>The pipeline will supply approximately 13 million cubic metres of gas per day to Suhar Industrial Port to meet the needs of upcoming industrial projects.
