This figure marks an increase from <strong>2,173,508 TEUs<\/strong> in the first half of 2024, reflecting an <strong>11.7 percent growth<\/strong>, which underscores the efficiency of logistics operations and the ports\u2019 capacity to meet rising demand.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the number of ships visiting Omani ports rose, totaling <strong>6,586 vessels<\/strong> in the first half of 2025, compared to <strong>5,930<\/strong> during the same timeframe in 2024, signaling an increase of <strong>11.1 percent<\/strong>. Key contributors to this growth included Sultan Qaboos Port, Shinas, and Salalah.<\/p>\n<p>Bin Baqer also noted that the total volume of goods processed through Omani ports reached <strong>70,114,527 tons<\/strong>, an increase from <strong>66,620,847 tons<\/strong> in the previous year, reflecting a <strong>5.2 percent rise<\/strong>. Additionally, ports received <strong>50,248 vehicles<\/strong> and imported <strong>2,694,293 livestock<\/strong>, highlighting the diverse economic activities supported by these facilities.<\/p>\n<p>To further develop port infrastructure, the Ministry has awarded consultancy services for the design and supervision of the Khor Jarama development project, aimed at enhancing site readiness and maritime utilization. The tender for the rehabilitation of Shannah and Masirah ports has also been awarded, focusing on the improvement of marine infrastructure, including docks, a breakwater, and the bridge connecting to the port. This project will involve eight months of studies and consultancy services to create a master plan and an integrated vision for ongoing development.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Quadrilateral Marine Solutions and Systems Company, operator of Shinas Port, has signed a usufruct agreement to establish a marine fuel processing and storage center at the port, with backing from the Ministry of
