significant milestone by generating <strong>1 trillion watt-hours (1 terawatt-hour)<\/strong> of clean electricity. This achievement highlights the increasing contribution of renewable energy in fulfilling the nation\u2019s power demands.<\/p>\n<p>Wadi Noor Solar Power Company, the owner and operator of the Manah-1 Solar project, reported that the 1 terawatt-hour milestone represents electricity generated from the commencement of trial operations in January 2025 through this past weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The company emphasized that this clean energy production has saved approximately 6 million MMBtu of natural gas\u2014the equivalent fuel a conventional gas-fired power plant would have needed to produce the same amount of electricity. Additionally, this has prevented around 480,000 tonnes of CO\u2082 emissions, reflecting a substantial environmental benefit.<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate this accomplishment, senior executives from the project\u2019s principal investors, EDF Renewables (France) and Korea Western Power Co Ltd (KOWEPO), each holding a 50 percent share, visited the facility. Together, the two plants form a clean energy complex with a combined capacity exceeding 1 gigawatt (GW). Manah-2 is owned by Sembcorp Jinko Shine Co, a joint venture between Singapore-based Sembcorp Utilities (80 percent) and China\u2019s Jinko Power Technology (20
