The Directorate-General of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion reported that it completed <strong>141,218 transactions<\/strong> in the first half of 2025, a significant increase from <strong>112,388 transactions<\/strong> for the entirety of 2024, indicating a rapid acceleration in activity.<\/p>\n<p>Shaikh Jamal bin Abdullah al Hinai, Director-General of the Directorate, noted that <strong>94,020 commercial transactions<\/strong> were processed through the Oman Business platform. In addition, the Directorate carried out <strong>8,293 transactions<\/strong> in standards and metrology, conducted <strong>255 product tests<\/strong>, calibrated <strong>424 scales<\/strong>, made three technical visits, and registered three laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, commercial and industrial services reached <strong>96,675 transactions<\/strong> in the first half of 2025. Intellectual property services also saw growth, with total transactions rising to <strong>2,053<\/strong> from <strong>1,410<\/strong> in 2024, indicating a heightened awareness of IP protection.<\/p>\n<p>The Oman Business platform now offers over <strong>50 e-services<\/strong>, including commercial registration, licensing, and permits, as well as commercial agency registration and certificates of origin. A <strong>Know Your Customer (KYC)<\/strong> feature enables foreign investors to register remotely using biometric verification and comprehensive checks, matching a live facial scan to a passport photo. An Investment Guide is available to help investors navigate the necessary documents, fees, and requirements before making applications.<\/p>\n<p>Boasting competitive fundamentals, modern infrastructure, and an investor-friendly environment, the Al Batinah North Governorate is well-positioned for attracting further local and foreign investment.
