<strong>\u2018Country Partner\u2019<\/strong> for the first time at European Hydrogen Week 2025, Europe\u2019s premier clean energy exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>A high-level Omani delegation, led by Eng. Salim bin Nasser al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, is attending the four-day conference and exhibition, which commenced on September 29, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>Oman\u2019s delegation includes key national entities involved in the hydrogen sector: Hydrom (the nation\u2019s green hydrogen orchestrator), OQ (Oman\u2019s integrated energy group), OQ Gas Networks (OQGN), Oman Tank Terminal Company (OTTCO) operating the Ras Markaz crude terminal near Al Duqm, Nama Water Services, and Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC).<\/p>\n<p>The delegation will engage in crucial discussions on hydrogen certification, infrastructure development, and project execution, aiming to forge tangible linkages between Omani hydrogen production and Europe\u2019s industrial demand.<\/p>\n<p>In a pre-event statement, Minister Al Aufi affirmed Oman\u2019s transition from ambition to implementation. \u201cSupported by a Royal Decree, we have allocated land, launched structured public auctions, introduced targeted fiscal incentives, and realized progress on the ground. This ensures our world-class renewable resources are converted into bankable hydrogen and ammonia projects, not just plans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Al Aufi highlighted Oman\u2019s approach as a collaborative and pragmatic partner committed to certification, logistics, and technology cooperation, with a strong emphasis on execution. \u201cAmmonia will anchor near-term exports, while strategic initiatives like the Oman\u2013Amsterdam\u2013Germany liquid hydrogen corridor prepare us for large-scale hydrogen flows by decade\u2019s end,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Domestically, Oman is preparing to meet internal hydrogen demand by implementing a dual-sided allocation mechanism and future domestic hydrogen auctions. These steps will support local industries, including steel and chemicals, fostering a balanced hydrogen ecosystem that aligns international partnerships with national development goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready to deliver clean hydrogen globally, fostering partnerships that drive decarbonization and sustainable economic growth,\u201d Al Aufi concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Hydrom Managing Director Abdulaziz al Shidhani, participating in a panel on the opening day, emphasized the sector\u2019s policy-backed progress. \u201cHydrom leads a framework in motion through structured auctions, land allocations, single permitting, and coordination of shared infrastructure. Our current priority is on certification and aligning offtake to enable cross-border delivery,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, Oman has attracted substantial European interest due to its capacity to supply large volumes of green hydrogen and related derivatives, such as green ammonia and liquefied hydrogen, supporting Europe\u2019s aggressive decarbonization, emission reduction, and clean energy security goals.<\/p>\n<p>A significant milestone is the landmark Joint Development Agreement (JDA) signed earlier this year between Oman, the Netherlands, and Germany\u2014establishing the world\u2019s first commercial liquid hydrogen corridor linking Al Duqm production facilities with ports in Amsterdam and logistic hubs in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Oman is also collaborating with European ports (including Amsterdam and Duisburg), terminals, and companies across import\/regasification, transport, and logistics sectors to ensure the reliable delivery of
