developing the national Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Master Plan.<\/p>\n<p>The chosen consulting firm will assist the MTCIT and the National Steering Committee in the design and implementation of Oman\u2019s National Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Strategy. <\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submitting bids is November 23, 2025, with the final submission date set for December 15, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The consultancy will focus on creating eight integrated components and establishing the necessary governance frameworks. The deliverables will cover a broad spectrum including regulatory, institutional, infrastructure, economic, and social aspects.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative aligns with the National Aviation Strategy 2040, which seeks to transform the air mobility sector by modernizing aviation, fostering innovation, promoting sustainability, and integrating emerging technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Kuljit Ghata-Aura, president of Boeing Middle East, T\u00fcrkiye, Africa, and Central Asia, previously highlighted the sector\u2019s importance, stating, \u201cAir transport has long been a catalyst for economic growth and cultural exchange. Thanks to the efforts of Oman Air, SalamAir, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Oman\u2019s aviation sector is driving connectivity and opportunity.\u201d He added, \u201cOman is actively exploring advanced air mobility (AAM) and taking steps to establish a regulatory framework.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In September, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and MTCIT signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Odys Aviation to launch the Omani Advanced Air Mobility Proof of Concept Program. This program aims to serve as a comprehensive model for demonstrating an advanced air mobility ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>The program will feature the &quot;Laila&quot; aircraft developed by Odys Aviation. This electric hybrid propulsion aircraft, capable of vertical takeoff and landing, offers extended range, high payload capacity, and advanced autonomous flight technology. The pilot phase of the program is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Advanced Air Mobility (AAM)?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) represents a new generation of air transport systems using electric or hybrid-electric aircraft to move people and goods within and between cities. This includes autonomous or remotely piloted aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) capabilities, providing a more efficient and potentially sustainable alternative to conventional air travel.
