partnership with Airbus, attention now shifts to Space Communications Technologies (SCT). The collaboration begins with satellite design tailored to national specifications, followed by the setup and operation of ground stations within Oman. Salim al Alawi, CEO of SCT, emphasized the company\u2019s goal to create a fully Omani-operated system managed by skilled local professionals. He highlighted that OmanSat-1 will utilize cutting-edge, software-defined satellite technology featuring high flexibility and Ka-band capacity to provide competitive services across key sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Operating with advanced high-throughput technologies, OmanSat-1 will deliver a capacity exceeding 120\u2013130 gigabits per second (Gbps) over the Ka-band. The satellite\u2019s coverage will span the Sultanate of Oman and its economic waters, as well as regions including the Middle East, North Africa, East Africa, and selected Central Asian countries. This broad reach will empower all telecommunications operators in Oman to offer services unaffected by geographic constraints, ensuring sovereign digital capabilities and reducing dependency on foreign satellite operators.<\/p>\n<p>The project timeline kicks off in January with the initial meeting, following the completion and final approval of the preliminary design. Subsequent phases include manufacturing the payload and platform, technical testing, and delivery of the satellite on the ground expected by September 2028. Full operational services are scheduled to commence in May 2029.<\/p>\n<p>SCT\u2019s role as the national operator builds on its prior experience in satellite-based services through partnerships with
