January 11, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This special edition banknote is crafted from polymer, a material known for its enhanced durability and advanced security features, distinguishing it from the current cotton-based banknotes in circulation.<\/p>\n<p>Measuring 145 x 76 mm, the banknote features a distinctive design that celebrates Omani national heritage. The front showcases the Oman Botanic Garden, while the reverse side highlights the Sayyid Tariq bin Taimur Cultural Complex along with the Duqm Port and Refinery, collectively symbolizing Oman\u2019s national identity.<\/p>\n<p>The commemorative note incorporates several sophisticated security elements, including a large transparent window inspired by the arched windows of the Oman Botanic Garden. It also features a color-changing stamp depicting the frankincense tree on the front, and the Central Bank of Oman\u2019s visual identity rendered in color-changing ink on the back.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Bank of Oman confirmed that this commemorative polymer banknote will circulate alongside existing notes and will be valid for all transactions at its face value.<\/p>\n<p>For collectors and the public, 1,000 sheets of the banknote, along with 10,000 individually packaged notes in special envelopes, will be available for sale starting January 11, 2026.
