He also noted that Omantel\u2019s strategic investment in the Kuwait-based Zain Group has expanded its presence to eight regional markets, serving over 54 million subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>Baitfadhil emphasized that Omantel has kept pace with rapid global advancements in artificial intelligence, cloud services, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things, positioning Oman as an attractive destination for high-quality digital investments while strengthening its role in the global digital economy.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, Omantel marked several key achievements, notably launching advanced 5G technology, the first operator in Oman to do so, significantly enhancing network capabilities for next-generation digital applications. The company also reported its strongest financial and operational performance, with revenues reaching approximately RO 2.29 billion by the end of September 2025 and a net profit of RO 243.4 million. Contributions from subsidiaries rose to 22% of group revenues, up from 9% in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>International connectivity remains a strategic focus, turning Oman\u2019s geographic location into a digital advantage. Omantel is the most connected operator to submarine cables in the Middle East, with over 20 cables linking Oman to more than 120 cities across 50 countries on three continents.<\/p>\n<p>Baitfadhil further noted that Omantel\u2019s neutral data centres in Muscat and Salalah have become critical national assets. These centres host content for over 40 global companies, support cloud services, enhance cybersecurity, and reinforce Oman\u2019s position as a regional data hub.
