has launched the <strong>\u201cImkan Plus\u201d<\/strong> programme. This initiative aims to enhance project management efficiency and strengthen contract management by developing the skills of Omani engineering professionals working in contracting and engineering consultancy firms registered with Riyada.<\/p>\n<p>The five-month programme focuses on upgrading project and contract management capabilities in line with modern professional standards. It seeks to improve project execution quality, optimize spending efficiency, and reduce change orders. Participants engage in six-week training sessions that combine both theoretical and practical learning.<\/p>\n<p>Building on previous training initiatives by the Authority, Imkan Plus targets the qualification of national professionals for government projects and contracts. The programme emphasizes enhancing technical and analytical skills related to project implementation, supervision, and monitoring, enabling participants to manage the full project lifecycle effectively and apply their expertise to ongoing national projects.<\/p>\n<p>Engineer Abdullah bin Saif Al Hosni, Director of the Imkan Plus programme, stated that the initiative is designed for national firms operating in contracting, civil and architectural engineering, and consultancy services. In 2025, over 7,200 companies were registered with Riyada in the construction and engineering consultancy sector, including approximately 1,380 focused on construction\u2014representing about 19 percent of the sector\u2019s total. This highlights the critical need to invest in talent development.<\/p>\n<p>The programme includes a comprehensive assessment framework to evaluate participants\u2019 knowledge and skills. Earlier training cycles recorded a success rate of 89 percent, underscoring the effectiveness of combining theoretical instruction with practical application. Upon completion, participants receive certificates, while top performers are awarded certificates of excellence. The programme also offers post-training support as part of a broader national training framework.<\/p>\n<p>Engineer Ahmed bin Humaid Al Asmi, Director of the Local Added Value Department at Riyada, highlighted that the programme exemplifies the strategic partnership between Riyada and the Projects, Tenders and Local Content Authority.
