last week, preserving gains made earlier this year amid some short-term volatility in regional markets.<\/p>\n<p>Since the start of 2026, the MSX has seen an increase of more than <strong>RO 4.2 billion<\/strong> in market value, compared to approximately <strong>RO 32 billion<\/strong> at the end of 2025. This growth reflects ongoing investor confidence in several prominent listed companies.<\/p>\n<p>Key contributions to market stability came from shares of OQ Group subsidiaries and other major firms, particularly towards the end of the week. Following a sharp decline on Tuesday due to geopolitical tensions in the region, the index rebounded on Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Supported by rising oil prices and the belief that regional developments would not significantly impair corporate performance, the MSX 30 index concluded the week at <strong>7,378 points<\/strong>, limiting its weekly loss to <strong>14 points<\/strong> after dropping to <strong>7,256 points<\/strong> earlier in the week.<\/p>\n<p>Sector indices, however, faced declines across the board. The industrial sector index experienced the largest decrease, falling <strong>238 points<\/strong>, followed by the financial sector, which declined <strong>78 points<\/strong>, and the services sector, down <strong>21 points<\/strong>. The Sharia-compliant index also slipped by <strong>14 points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite these declines, the positive performance of several blue-chip stocks bolstered overall market sentiment, with <strong>21 securities<\/strong> registering price increases during the week.<\/p>\n<p>OQ Exploration and Production shares rose <strong>9 baisas<\/strong>, closing at <strong>477 baisas<\/strong> and boosting the company\u2019s market capitalization to <strong>RO 3.816 billion<\/strong>, reflecting a weekly increase of <strong>RO 72 million<\/strong>. OQ Basic Industries saw an <strong>11 baisa<\/strong> gain, closing at <strong>240 baisas<\/strong>, which raised its market value to <strong>RO 830.2 million<\/strong>, marking an increase of <strong>RO 38 million<\/strong> week-on-week.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Asyad Shipping shares climbed <strong>7 baisas<\/strong> to close at <strong>246 baisas<\/strong>, contributing to a market capitalization of <strong>RO 1.281 billion<\/strong>, with a weekly gain of <strong>RO 36.4 million<\/strong>. The company recently stated that regional developments are unlikely to materially impact its financial results, as most of its vessels are leased, and it continues to monitor the situation closely.<\/p>\n<p>Other companies that reported gains include the National Bank of Oman, Muscat Insurance, Musandam Power, International Financial Investments Holding, Oman International Development and Investment Company (Ominvest), and A\u2019Saffa Foods.<\/p>\n<p>Total trading value for the week amounted to <strong>RO 277.2 million<\/strong>, an <strong>18 percent<\/strong> decrease from <strong>RO 339.7 million<\/strong> in the previous week. Nonetheless, transaction volumes remained robust, surpassing <strong>27,400 trades<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Muscat led in trading activity by value at <strong>RO 57.8 million<\/strong>, comprising <strong>20.8 percent<\/strong> of total trading. Sohar International followed with <strong>RO 53.8 million<\/strong>, while OQ Exploration and Production ranked third with <strong>RO 49.3 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the bonds and sukuk market, Oman Investment &amp; Finance Company\u2019s mandatory convertible bonds issued in 2024 recorded the most significant gain, rising <strong>8.5 percent<\/strong> to close at <strong>114 baisas<\/strong>. National Bank of Oman\u2019s mandatory convertible bonds increased <strong>7.4 percent<\/strong> to <strong>115 baisas<\/strong>, and Mohammed Al Barwani\u2019s sukuk edged up <strong>1.4 percent<\/strong> to <strong>RO 1.65<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Trading value in the bonds and sukuk segment stood at <strong>RO 405,000<\/strong>, compared to <strong>RO 471,000<\/strong> in the previous
