Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude increased by $3.69, or 4.4%, to $89.56 per barrel.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in Asian trading, both benchmarks had extended losses following a sharp drop of more than 11% on Tuesday, even though US crude prices jumped by 5% at the market\u2019s opening.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Wall Street Journal, citing officials familiar with the matter, the IEA\u2019s planned release would surpass the 182 million barrels of oil that member countries made available in two rounds in 2022, coinciding with Russia&#8217;s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Goldman Sachs analysts noted in a client briefing that this unprecedented release could compensate for 12 days of the bank\u2019s estimated 15.4 million barrels per day disruption in Gulf exports.<\/p>\n<p>However, SEB analyst Bjarne Schieldrop expressed doubt, stating, \u201cIt doesn&#8217;t look like the oil market believes the \u2018largest ever\u2019 release of strategic reserves will significantly alleviate the current crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tensions intensified on Tuesday as the US and Israel launched what both the Pentagon and Iranian sources described as the most intense air strikes of the conflict on Iran. In addition, the US Central Command reported the destruction of 16 Iranian mine-laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning, demanding the
