Oman’s Halal Export Expansion to Russia: Key Opportunities for Investors and Entrepreneurs
مسقط: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, through Oman Exports and in collaboration with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will participate in Halal Expo 2026. This event is set to take place in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, from May 13 to 15.
Halal Expo 2026 is recognized as one of the premier international platforms fostering cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world within the halal economy sector. Several Omani companies, eager to enter the Russian market and other economies within the Islamic framework, are expected to showcase their offerings.
Oman’s involvement in the expo is part of broader strategies to enhance the global visibility of Omani products, identify new export opportunities, and forge trade and investment partnerships with emerging markets. This initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which aims to promote non-oil exports and bolster the competitiveness of national products.
The expo will bring together businesses, investors, and governmental entities from across the Islamic world and Russia, offering a platform for investment opportunities and bilateral business discussions.
Lubna bint Mohammed al Harthy, Director of the Export Development Department at the Ministry, stated that Oman Exports’ participation is part of a strategic plan to penetrate high-growth international markets, particularly Russia, where there is a rising demand for halal and quality products. She emphasized that the exhibition serves as a vital platform to showcase Oman’s strengths in the food, manufacturing, and consumer product sectors, while also highlighting the services and initiatives available to support Omani exporters in global markets.
Mahmoud bin Sulaiman al Yazidi, Head of the Export Promotion Department and General Supervisor of the Omani pavilion, reported that the pavilion will include a variety of Omani companies and SMEs from diverse sectors, all aiming to create new export partnerships and enhance the presence of Omani products internationally.
He noted that the agenda will also feature bilateral meetings between Omani businesses and their Russian counterparts, as well as representatives from other participating nations, to explore opportunities for trade cooperation and expand export partnerships. Al Yazidi highlighted that the increasing participation of Omani firms reflects a growing interest from the private sector in diversifying export destinations to capitalize on opportunities in Russia and Central Asia. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continuing programs that promote external trade and improve the competitiveness of Omani exports on both regional and global scales.
The exhibition is anticipated to draw government delegations, investors, and economic institutions worldwide, alongside specialized forums and business events designed to enhance trade and investment collaboration between the participating countries and Russia. — ONA
