‘Inspire Oman’ Initiative: How Showcasing Success Stories Can Boost Investment Opportunities in Oman
MUSCAT, JUNE 24 – Mefriend, a digital initiative from a regional media house, has launched a new program aimed at showcasing Omani business and entrepreneurial success stories, while promoting the Sultanate of Oman as an investment hub. This initiative, supported strategically by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), is titled ‘Inspire Oman’.
The purpose of ‘Inspire Oman’ is to highlight and document remarkable Omani achievements in both economic and social development, locally and globally. It also aims to attract foreign investment by spotlighting available opportunities, in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
The initiative was officially announced at a press conference held at OCCI’s headquarters in Muscat. Key attendees included Shaikh Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI’s Board of Directors; Shaikh Saud bin Ahmed al Nahari, OCCI board member; and Abdul Latif Mohiuddin Khonji, OCCI board member and Chairman of its Foreign Investment Committee, along with representatives from Mefriend and various business leaders.
In his address, Al Rawas emphasized that Omani success stories are vital to the national economy’s strength. “Every successful project, entrepreneur, investor, and institution that has contributed to building this nation is a narrative deserving to be documented and shared globally,” he stated, reinforcing Oman’s reputation as an appealing business destination and a reliable investment partner.
Khonji elaborated on the initiative’s goals, which include presenting a comprehensive overview of Oman’s investment landscape. This will be achieved by highlighting economic achievements, sharing experiences of entrepreneurs and national companies, and introducing investment opportunities across various sectors. He noted that creating a compelling national narrative would bolster investor confidence and enhance the overall business environment.
The initiative is structured around three main components: a “Commemorative Publication” that will document significant business journeys and leadership experiences; a “Celebrating the Experience” digital campaign featuring videos, interviews, and success stories across online platforms; and the “Inspire Oman Investors Summit,” which will bring together officials, experts, and investors from Oman, India, and other countries for strategic dialogue, networking, and collaboration.
Mohammed Ambalan, Director of Mefriend, stated that the initiative’s goal is to document Omani success stories and share the lessons learned from them. “We aim to transfer expertise from these experiences to cultivate a culture of innovation and ambition among future generations,” he said.
