MUSCAT: Oman’s investment sector is increasingly central to the nation’s economic diversification under Oman Vision 2040, driven by fiscal reforms, the mobilisation of private capital, and cross-border partnerships. A new video titled “How Oman and Ominvest Drive Sustainable Growth Beyond Oil,” produced by Oxford Business Group (OBG) in collaboration with Oman International Development and Investment Company (Ominvest), highlights Oman’s efforts to strengthen its economic foundation and establish itself as a key player in regional growth.
The video showcases Oman’s significant progress in reducing its dependence on hydrocarbons over the past decade. This achievement is supported by policy frameworks such as the Five-Year Strategy and the Medium-Term Fiscal Plan, which have contributed to lowering public debt from nearly 70% of GDP to under 34%, restoring the country’s investment-grade status, and directing resources toward infrastructure development, private sector growth, and job creation.
Emerging sectors including tourism, logistics, mining, fisheries, and green hydrogen—fully aligned with Oman Vision 2040—are emphasized. The video also highlights Ominvest’s role in domestic investment and its expanding presence in high-growth regional markets, notably Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
