Omani Startup Balil Unveils Innovative Auto Air Filter at Comex: What It Means for Automotive Investors and Entrepreneurs in Oman
MUSCAT, SEPTEMBER 9 — Balil, an Omani startup specializing in sustainable air purification technologies, unveiled its groundbreaking Sporle Filter at the Comex Global Technology Exhibition 2025.
The Sporle Filter is the world’s first patented portable device designed specifically for car air purification, integrating filtration, cooling, and natural scenting into one compact unit. This innovation underscores Balil’s dedication to sustainability and responding to the increasing demand for healthier and environmentally friendly air solutions.
CEO Hajar al Amri highlighted the significance of their participation in the exhibition, stating, “Comex Global Technology Exhibition 2025 provided an exceptional platform to present our technology to a wide-ranging audience, including investors, businesses, and the general public from within and outside Oman. It allowed us to receive valuable feedback, foster discussions with potential manufacturing and distribution partners, and showcase the innovative spirit of Omani youth in entrepreneurship.”
She acknowledged the challenges faced in bringing the Sporle Filter from concept to market, emphasizing the difficulties of limited funding and technical expertise. “Raising public awareness about the health importance of air purification, rather than it being viewed as a luxury, was another significant hurdle. Additionally, establishing a robust network of manufacturers and distributors aligned with the sustainability of our product was essential,” al Amri explained.
Since its debut, the Sporle Filter has attracted substantial interest. “From day one, we observed strong curiosity from individuals eager to understand our innovation, many of whom expressed enthusiasm for using eco-friendly air purifiers in daily life. We also received encouraging engagement from investors interested in pioneering sustainability-driven technologies. This momentum has led to preliminary talks about potential investments. Moreover, multiple organizations and companies are preparing to formalize collaborations through memorandums of understanding to enhance our manufacturing and marketing capabilities,” she added.
Looking forward, Balil is focusing on finalizing product testing and securing official certifications required to launch the Sporle Filter. Concurrently, the startup is actively seeking strategic investments to fuel its growth and expansion.
“Our immediate objective is to enter the regional market, followed by a strategic plan for global expansion once these milestones are accomplished,” concluded al Amri.
