Oman to Host 17th IFSB Summit: Key Insights and Opportunities for Investors and Businesses
مسقط: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) is set to host the 17th Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) Summit in Muscat from February 2 to 4, 2026. The theme of this year’s summit is “Islamic Finance for the Future: Unlocking New Horizons with Global Impact.”
The event will unite central banks, regulators, international organizations, and industry leaders to discuss the expanding influence of Islamic finance in developing a stable, ethical, and sustainable global financial system.
Panel discussions will address critical topics, including the development of the sukuk market, enhancements in non-banking financial sectors, financial inclusion, social impact, and climate change. In addition, dialogue sessions will engage private-sector leaders, government agencies, NGOs, and youth representatives. An exhibition will accompany the summit, showcasing contributions from leading figures in the Islamic finance sector.
Ahmed bin Ja’afar al Musallami, Governor of the Central Bank of Oman, referred to the summit as a “strategic turning point” that aims to deepen understanding of global economic shifts and foster dialogue on innovative collaboration. He emphasized that the summit would enhance the resilience of the Islamic finance sector while paving the way for inclusive and sustainable growth.
Dr. Ghiath Shabsieh, Secretary-General of the Islamic Financial Services Board, noted the summit’s significance as a global platform for sharing insights on emerging trends in Islamic finance.
