Oman to Launch Golden Residency for Investors on August 31: What It Means for Business Growth and Investment Opportunities

Salalah – The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) is set to launch the ‘Golden Residency’ program for investors on August 31. Alongside this, the Ministry will introduce the ‘Glorious Companies’ initiative and a commercial registration transfer service utilizing electronic certification via the ‘Oman Business’ platform.

These announcements will be made during an event titled “Sustainable Business Environment”, held at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Centre for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah. The event is under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

The ceremony will also feature the signing of cooperation agreements aimed at developing the construction sector. Partners involved include Sultan Qaboos University, the German University of Technology, the Oman Energy Association (OPAL), and Binaa Professional Services Company.

Mubarak bin Mohammed al Dohani, Director General of Planning at MOCIIP, Head of the Ministry’s Digital Transformation Team, and Official Spokesperson, stated that these initiatives and agreements seek to strengthen Oman’s status as a premier global investment destination. The Ministry intends to offer a stable, encouraging business environment that delivers quality opportunities for sustainable, long-term investor growth.

Al Dohani explained that the ‘Glorious Companies’ initiative will support outstanding Omani firms in expanding both domestically and internationally by providing a comprehensive set of incentives and services.

Regarding the new commercial registration transfer service, he described it as a groundbreaking move toward creating a fully integrated digital environment for all commercial transactions, which will significantly reduce costs and time for investors.

He also highlighted the importance of empowering leading Omani companies to access regional and global markets, boosting their competitiveness and accelerating digital transformation across commercial processes for enhanced efficiency and transparency.

Furthermore, MOCIIP is committed to advancing the construction sector by adopting modern, sustainable standards while fostering collaboration with academic institutions and the private sector to build national expertise and promote innovation.
