Slovak Proptech Firm Secures Sultan Haitham City Digital Twin Contract: What This Means for Oman’s Smart City Investment Opportunities
MUSCAT: A collaboration between WooW Studio, a leading international property technology company based in Slovakia, and Oman’s Northsys, a specialist in GIS services, has secured a contract from Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning to create a digital twin for Sultan Haitham City, the Sultanate’s flagship sustainable urban development.
A digital twin is a dynamic virtual model of a city that integrates real-time data from various sensors, infrastructure, and systems. This model mirrors and optimizes the physical environment, allowing planners and operators to simulate scenarios, monitor performance, predict maintenance needs, enhance sustainability, and engage with citizens. The technology supports smarter, more efficient, and resilient urban development.
Juraj Krc, CEO of WooW Studio, headquartered in Bratislava, explained that the digital twin is designed to accelerate property sales and attract investment by providing buyers and stakeholders with an immersive preview of the city before its construction.
The project also aims to assist developers in marketing their projects more quickly and effectively, help government planners communicate the city’s vision, coordinate with partners, engage citizens, and enable future residents to explore their neighborhoods before moving in.
Since being awarded the contract, the WooW Studio and Northsys partnership has already delivered a masterplan view of the entire Sultan Haitham City, as well as a detailed digital twin of the Sarooj Oasis neighborhood within the development. These initiatives also facilitated the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in showcasing the project at Comex 2025, held recently in Muscat.
Sultan Haitham City is envisioned as one of the region’s most ambitious urban developments, planned to house 100,000 residents across 20,000 housing units in a 14.8 million square meter area. The city will feature sustainable infrastructure, extensive green corridors, and a vast central park.
