seen a significant reduction in traffic accidents in 2025, with a total of <strong>1,545 reported incidents<\/strong>\u060c \u0646\u0634\u0627\u0646 \u062f\u0647\u0646\u062f\u0647 \u06cc\u06a9 <strong>17% decrease<\/strong> from the previous year, as revealed by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).<\/p>\n<p>This decline reflects ongoing initiatives by authorities to enhance road safety through stricter enforcement, public awareness campaigns, and infrastructure improvements aimed at minimizing accidents and saving lives.<\/p>\n<p>Road safety remains a critical national priority as Oman continues to invest in safer highways, smart traffic management systems, and campaigns addressing speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.<\/p>\n<p>According to NCSI, Muscat experienced the highest number of traffic incidents in 2025, totaling <strong>271 cases<\/strong>. South Al Batinah followed with <strong>246 accidents<\/strong>, Al Dakhiliyah recorded <strong>240<\/strong>, and Dhofar had <strong>237<\/strong> incidents. Musandam reported the lowest number at <strong>26<\/strong>, while Al Dhahirah logged <strong>70<\/strong> accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle collisions continue to be the primary cause of accidents, with <strong>\u06f6\u06f6\u06f1 \u062d\u0627\u062f\u062b\u0647<\/strong> attributed to this category. Other notable causes included pedestrian run-overs with <strong>320 cases<\/strong>, falls at <strong>312<\/strong>, and collisions with fixed objects accounting for <strong>252<\/strong> incidents.<\/p>\n<p>The statistics also revealed that <strong>354 Omanis<\/strong> lost their lives in traffic-related fatalities, including <strong>67 women<\/strong>. In addition, <strong>\u06f2\u06f4\u06f1 \u0645\u0647\u0627\u062c\u0631<\/strong> died, with <strong>31 women<\/strong> among them.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, there has been a notable decrease in speeding-related incidents, which fell from <strong>1,009 cases<\/strong> \u062f\u0631 \u0633\u0627\u0644 \u06f2\u06f0\u06f2\u06f3 \u0628\u0647 <strong>768<\/strong> in 2024, and further down to <strong>674<\/strong> \u062f\u0631 \u0633\u0627\u0644 \u06f2\u06f0\u06f2\u06f5.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has reiterated the importance of responsible driving behavior, especially during peak travel periods and holidays when traffic volumes increase significantly.<\/p>\n<p>This positive trend in the reduction of accidents coincides with enhanced collaboration among government agencies
