season, with airlines increasing flight frequencies and seat capacity to meet rising travel demand to Salalah from June to September.<\/p>\n<p>The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has finalized its preparations for the 2026 Khareef season through a coordinated operational plan involving airlines and aviation stakeholders. The plan aims to enhance connectivity, expand capacity, and ensure a seamless travel experience for visitors.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this strategy, Oman Air will operate up to 13 daily flights between Muscat and Salalah during peak periods, an increase from 12 flights last season. On some peak days, this will rise to 14 flights to accommodate higher demand. SalamAir plans to run up to 10 daily flights on the same route.<\/p>\n<p>SalamAir will operate 984 flights throughout the season, up from 962 in 2025, reflecting increased capacity and operational readiness.<\/p>\n<p>Mohammed bin Ahmed al Yafei, Director-General of Civil Aviation in Dhofar Governorate, stated that the authority is working closely with airlines and relevant bodies to improve operational efficiency, enhance passenger services, and maintain flexibility in managing demand surges during peak travel times. Continuous monitoring of airline operations and airport preparedness is expected to uphold service quality and support Dhofar\u2019s growing status as a premier tourism destination in Oman.<\/p>\n<p>Oman Air is projected to offer around 330,000 seats this season, up from 313,000 last year, while SalamAir will provide approximately 190,844 seats. Passenger traffic is also set to increase, with Oman Air expecting to carry about 298,000 passengers, up from 277,000 last year\u2014an 8% growth\u2014and SalamAir forecasting over 166,000 passengers, slightly exceeding the previous season.<\/p>\n<p>The CAA confirmed that Oman Air will continue to provide discounted fares for Omani citizens, maintaining 2024 ticket prices at RO54 for return journeys and RO32 for one-way travel. SalamAir will keep offering flexible fare options, with one-way tickets starting at RO9.99 for early bookings.<\/p>\n<p>International connectivity is being enhanced as well. SalamAir will operate direct flights to Salalah from Dammam and Baghdad, while Oman Air will introduce a new Dubai-Salalah service starting July 3 with three weekly flights. About 18,000 seats will be available on routes connecting Salalah with GCC destinations between July and September, with additional capacity added on high-demand days.<\/p>\n<p>Salalah Airport is
