Oman Embassy’s Clarification on Indonesian Domestic Worker Recruitment: Implications for Businesses Hiring in Oman
Muscat: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Jakarta has issued a notice advising Omani citizens against engaging with agencies involved in the recruitment of domestic workers from Indonesia.
The embassy stated that the export of Indonesian domestic workers to Arab countries, including Oman, is currently not officially authorized. It emphasized that any recruitment efforts in this regard are unofficial and unauthorized.
Consequently, financial transactions related to these matters cannot be legally enforced, and the embassy confirmed that there are no legal avenues available for recovering funds transferred for unauthorized recruitment.
The embassy stressed the importance of refraining from any dealings that operate outside the official framework, as such actions are deemed illegal.
