Edelweiss Air Resumes Flights to Oman: What This Means for Business Travel and Investment Opportunities
Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss Air has commenced twice-weekly flights between Salalah and Zurich International Airport. The inaugural flight arrived at Salalah Airport on Tuesday, following a brief stopover at Muscat International Airport.
According to the airline’s official website, Edelweiss Air plans to operate three flights in September, nine in October, eight in November, and nine in December. Services will continue into 2026, running through May, with flights resuming again in September next year.
Edelweiss Air, a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines and part of the Lufthansa Group, is based at Zurich Airport. It serves over 90 holiday destinations across 38 countries, spanning Europe, the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Indian Ocean region.
This year’s Khareef season has also seen the launch of new services to Salalah Airport by Saudi Airlines. Additionally, Fly Baghdad operated two charter flights from Basra, and Iraqi Airways operated two charter flights from Baghdad.
Oman Airports, together with the Civil Aviation Authority and partners from the airline, security, and ground handling sectors, have confirmed that Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport are fully prepared to accommodate the anticipated seasonal influx of visitors.
