Business Activity Soars in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate
مسقط، 5 أبريل — North Al Sharqiyah Governorate experienced significant growth in its business sector in 2025, with new commercial registrations (CRs) increasing by 25.2% to reach 1,665, up from 1,330 in 2024. By year’s end, the total number of CRs in the governorate climbed to 19,996, highlighting a sustained expansion across its economic landscape.
Abdul Aziz bin Naseeb al Arimi, Director of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in North Al Sharqiyah, indicated that these positive indicators reflect increasing confidence among entrepreneurs and investors regarding the local business climate. He emphasized that the surge in registrations, along with robust performance in the construction sector, points to a growing development momentum across various wilayats.
Al Arimi noted that continuing efforts to streamline regulatory processes, enhance digital services, and provide stronger support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are attracting higher-quality investments and contributing to sustainable economic development.
At the wilayat level, Bidiyah led the way with 531 CRs registered in 2025, followed by Ibra with 298, Al Mudhaibi with 289, Al Qabil with 286, Sinaw with 179, Wadi Bani Khalid with 47, and Wadi Dima Wa’tayeen with 35. This distribution underscores a broad-based growth across the governorate, particularly in key population and commercial centers.
However, the number of completed commercial licenses fell to 11,050 in 2025, down from 13,447 in 2024. Despite this decline, the cumulative total rose to 34,865 licenses. Licenses completed through digital systems also saw a 17.1% decrease, dropping to 13,385 من 16,150 the previous year, resulting in an overall total of 43,731.
