Oman Public Holidays 2026: Dates and How Eid Is Decided
The official 2026 public holiday dates in Oman, including National Day on 25 and 26 November, and why Eid dates are announced separately.

Oman now publishes its public holiday dates in advance, under a calendar endorsed by the Council of Ministers. These are the dates reported for 2026.
| Holiday | Date | |---|---| | Sultan's Accession Day | Thursday 15 January | | Isra and Miraj | Sunday 18 January | | Islamic New Year | Thursday 18 June | | Prophet's Birthday | Thursday 27 August | | National Day | Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 November |
What about Eid?
Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha are not on the fixed list. Their dates depend on the sighting of the moon and are announced separately by the Main Committee for the Sighting of the Hijri Month Crescents, usually close to the time. So leave some room in your plans around those weeks.
Planning around holidays
- Travel: flights, stays and rental cars fill up around long weekends, so book early. See stays and car rentals.
- Government offices: expect them to be closed on these days, and plan visa or company paperwork around them.
- Dates for 2027: we had not seen an announcement when we last checked, in November 2026.
We could not find the original official notice, so these dates come from two press reports that agree with each other. If you need a date for a contract or a legal deadline, confirm it with the Ministry of Labour.
