Muscat to Host Fiber Connect Council MENA Conference: Key Opportunities for Investors and Telecom Entrepreneurs in Oman
Muscat is set to host the 15th Fiber Connect Council MENA Conference and Expo on February 2–3, 2026, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Adham bin Turki al Said.
This two-day event will feature 14 leading national and international companies specializing in fibre, artificial intelligence, and communications technologies. It will bring together more than 20 expert speakers and delegates from over 20 countries across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.
An exhibition running alongside the conference will showcase cutting-edge innovations in fibre networks, 5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), data centres, and broader digital infrastructure.
Under the theme “Fiber Empowered Futures: Connecting Intelligence, Infrastructure and Innovation,” the conference will highlight key milestones in digital transformation across the MENA region, emphasizing fibre’s critical role as the foundation for future-ready digital economies.
Key topics will cover next-generation fibre networks, open-access models, data centres, sustainability, smart cities, and how fibre connectivity supports inclusive digital growth. The programme will include keynote speeches, expert-led panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions designed to enhance dialogue, collaboration, and strategic partnerships between Oman, the wider MENA region, and Europe.
Dr. Alaa Jasim, President of Fiber Connect Council MENA, noted that the conference remains a vital platform for industry leaders and policymakers to exchange insights, address challenges, and explore opportunities shaping the region’s next phase of connectivity. He emphasized that hosting the event in Muscat underscores Oman’s expanding digital infrastructure and aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which prioritizes digital transformation, advanced connectivity, and knowledge-based growth in national development plans.
The council will also unveil a new regional study on the evolving digital infrastructure landscape in MENA. The study highlights fibre as the often underestimated backbone of AI-ready infrastructure, facilitating the convergence of fibre-to-the-home, 5G, data centres, and AI applications at scale. It also signals a shift from merely expanding connectivity towards building computing capacity, driven by investments in hyperscale and sovereign data centres, subsea cable systems, and fibre-deep networks.
The 15th Fiber Connect Council MENA Conference and Expo is supported by 14 national and international sponsors. Platinum sponsors include Oman Broadband Company and Ooredoo, with Omantel as the technology partner and Earthlink Telecommunications as the strategic partner.
The exhibition will offer a valuable networking platform for participants to engage directly with companies showcasing technologies and solutions that are shaping the future of connectivity.
