Muscat: F&M, a prominent international multidisciplinary engineering and architecture firm, celebrated a decade of operations in Oman with a distinguished event at Al Bustan Palace, Muscat. The gathering was held under the auspices of Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shueili, the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and attended by over 400 esteemed guests, including government officials, clients, partners, and international stakeholders.
Key figures from F&M International were present, including Hazem Abdul Karim, CEO and Managing Partner; Board Directors Jean-Pierre Jelwan and Haneen Hammoudeh; Salim Ba Omar, Partner at F&M Middle East; and representatives from F&M Ingegneria SpA, such as Founder and President Sandro Favero, along with partners Federico Zaggia and Tommaso Tassi. The event was further elevated by the presence of Pierluigi D’Elia, Italy’s Ambassador to Oman, underscoring the group’s Italian roots.
The evening not only celebrated a decade of contributions in Oman, but also marked the official launch of F&M International, positioning Oman as its regional headquarters and operational base.
Founded in Italy in 1978, F&M Ingegneria boasts over 45 years of expertise and an extensive international portfolio. The establishment of F&M Middle East in Oman was a strategic move to enhance the organization’s footprint and bring global insights, integrated methodologies, and a long-term vision to the Sultanate.
During his address, Hazem Abdul Karim expressed pride and gratitude for the company’s journey in Oman. “What we have built here stems from trust, resilience, and long-term partnerships. Oman has been our home, foundation, and now our power base for international growth,” he stated.
The launch of F&M International emphasizes Oman’s pivotal role as the headquarters from which the firm coordinates a network of offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and the UK. This enables them to manage projects regionally and beyond, including initiatives in Georgia, Pakistan, and the Maldives.
Two significant partnership agreements were signed during the event. The first was with Tathmeer, represented by Chairman Abdulrahim Al Kharusi, for Neighbourhood 6 at A’Athurayya City. The second was with VA Group, represented by Managing Partner Roman Kapinos, for the Mutrah Waterfront project, further solidifying F&M’s commitment to advancing key urban developments in Oman.
