Fourth Edition of Green Hydrogen Summit Oman: Key Insights for Investors and Entrepreneurs in the Renewable Energy Sector

Muscat: The fourth edition of the Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO) commenced on December 1, under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

Organized by Birba in collaboration with the EU-GCC Cooperation on the Green Transition Project and Hydrom, the event has attracted senior government officials, CEOs, global energy leaders, and representatives from international institutions.

Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, emphasized the summit’s importance, stating, “The Green Hydrogen Summit Oman 2025 reflects our ongoing efforts to enhance energy security both domestically and internationally, positioning Oman as a pivotal hub for the development of low-carbon hydrogen industries. We have focused on creating clear policies and a robust regulatory framework to support the growth of this sector in alignment with global market realities.”

Al Aufi noted that Oman’s advancements in energy have always been about transforming challenges into opportunities. “Together with our partners, we are tackling technical and financial hurdles, developing the necessary infrastructure, and establishing national companies that can spearhead this transition, thereby boosting Oman’s competitiveness in clean fuel production and exports.”

The first day of the summit featured the launch of a strategic conference, which included a series of keynote presentations and panel discussions on various topics, such as Oman’s hydrogen vision, energy partnerships, lessons from initial hydrogen projects, and the transformation of demand and end uses across multiple sectors.

In addition, the summit also introduced a series of technical sessions focused on various aspects of the hydrogen ecosystem. An exhibition showcasing key regional and international industry players opened simultaneously.

Later in the day, the Women in Energy Conference convened, highlighting the increasing role of women in facilitating the energy transition.

The conference is being held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre and will conclude on December 2, 2025.
