Oman Hosts Workshop to Boost European Tourism: Key Insights for Local Businesses and Investors

Muscat: On Sunday, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism conducted a workshop in Muscat entitled "Prospects of the Tourism Sector in the Sultanate of Oman." This event is part of the "Welcome Oman" initiative, which targets European tourism markets including Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Russia, and Belarus, as part of its 2025 tourism promotion strategy.

The workshop aimed to explore opportunities within these significant markets, with plans to involve around 70 tourism companies. This effort seeks to enhance communication between local tourism stakeholders and their international counterparts, promoting Omani tourism products, experiences, and accommodations to increase inbound tourism to Oman.

Participants will embark on sightseeing tours across various governorates—Musandam, Al Dakhiliyah, South and North Al Sharqiyah, Muscat, and Dhofar—providing them with the opportunity to experience Oman’s rich cultural heritage, authentic activities, handicrafts, and local products.

Furthermore, attendees will engage in training sessions focused on Omani tourism offerings, as well as participate in business meetings and workshops aimed at sharing insights and fostering collaboration within the industry.

This initiative underscores Oman’s commitment to showcasing its diverse cultural and natural heritage while expanding its footprint in international tourism markets. – ONA
