MUSCAT: Asyad Shipping Company SAOG has finalized the acquisition of two second-hand Kamsarmax dry bulk carriers for a total of RO 28 million (approximately $72.7 million). The purchase agreement was signed on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, according to a regulatory disclosure submitted to the Muscat Stock Exchange.
Both vessels, built in 2023, each have a deadweight capacity of 85,000 tons and are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nadhairi, Chief Executive Officer, stated, “As we expand our Dry Bulk capacity, we continue to enhance our operational capabilities to provide more efficient solutions to our customers. With this acquisition, Asyad Shipping’s owned Dry Bulk fleet will grow to 16 vessels, totaling approximately 3 million DWT. This will establish the largest fleet in the region, enabling us to meet customer needs and keep pace with rising global demand.”
