Oman Oil Exports Rise Despite Lower Prices: What Investors and Business Owners Need to Know
MUSCAT: Oman’s crude oil exports rose by 2.7 percent in the first four months of 2026, reaching 102.73 million barrels by the end of April. This marks an increase from 100.03 million barrels during the same period in 2025, according to preliminary figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
This growth in exports occurred despite a notable decline in global oil prices. The average realized price dropped by 15.4 percent to $64.20 per barrel by April 2026, compared to $75.90 per barrel in the corresponding period last year.
Production also showed significant gains, with Oman’s average daily oil output rising 7.5 percent to 1.06 million barrels per day, up from 986,700 barrels per day in the first four months of 2025. Likewise, total oil production increased by 7.5 percent, reaching 127.31 million barrels by the end of April 2026, compared to 118.40 million barrels during the same timeframe in 2025.
These figures highlight that increased production and export volumes helped mitigate some of the effects of weaker oil prices, thereby supporting the continued contribution of the hydrocarbons sector to Oman’s economy.

Oman’s increase in crude oil exports and production despite falling global prices highlights a strategic focus on volume growth to buffer revenue impacts. For businesses and investors, this signals resilience in the hydrocarbons sector but also emphasizes the importance of diversification as price volatility persists. Smart investors should consider leveraging opportunities in downstream industries and value-added services linked to oil, while entrepreneurs might explore innovations that enhance operational efficiency or tap into emerging energy sectors.
