Muscat: The National Emergency Management Committee will carry out the national exercise "Homeland Readiness 2025" on December 23 and 24 in the Governorate of Muscat. This exercise aims to simulate scenarios that assess the readiness and response capabilities related to weather-related events, particularly heavy rainfall that may impact residents and essential services across the Sultanate.
Several government entities will participate in the exercise, including the Royal Oman Police, the Ministry of Defence, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources. The Subcommittee for Emergency Management in Muscat Governorate will also partake, along with the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Social Development, and the Authority for Public Services Regulation.
The primary goals of the exercise are to enhance the readiness and effectiveness of response teams, improve cooperation among relevant entities in managing emergencies, ensure a coordinated and efficient response that safeguards lives and property, and strengthen public safety and security nationwide.
