ROP Denies False Claims of Student Kidnapping: Implications for Safety and Business Confidence in Oman
Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has officially debunked claims circulating on social media regarding alleged attempts to lure school students by certain communities in Oman. A recent post warned of supposed kidnappers, stating:
"Please alert bus drivers and parents. There have been attempts to kidnap school students by a number of Africans who have been seen following school buses. When a student gets off at home, they call out to him and talk to him in preparation for kidnapping him. Please alert bus drivers to be more careful with students unless accompanied by an adult. Please advise parents not to let their children go out to play."
In response, the ROP has urged the public to refrain from spreading misleading information and emphasized the importance of verifying the credibility of such claims before sharing.
