Tourism Firms and Hotels Must Display Licences Prominently: What This Means for Business Compliance and Investor Confidence in Oman
Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) has issued a directive requiring all tourism and hotel establishments to prominently display their licenses within their premises. Additionally, these licenses must be clearly listed on their official websites and social media platforms.
This directive is in accordance with the Tourism Law, enacted by Royal Decree 69/2023, the Executive Regulations outlined in Ministerial Resolution No. 39/2016, and the Ministry’s Circular No. 2023/32/6421 100, dated January 8, 2025.
Establishments are obligated to exhibit their tourism license visibly on-site, ensure the license information is published on their official websites, and include the license details on their social media accounts.
The Ministry has urged all relevant businesses to comply promptly. Starting one week from the issuance of this circular, the Ministry will begin enforcing violations and taking legal action against establishments that fail to comply, as per the applicable laws and regulations.
